Good, Bad and Ugly, oh triplets three,

I invited them over for tea,

Good was polite, yet quiet and shy,

Bad was a rude guest, abrasive and awry,

Ugly was but a reflection of Life,

The Reality of mentality, of love, hate, and strife,

Good, Bad and Ugly, triplets three,

Those who I pity and whom from I flee,

The cage of Reality that now traps me,

They are the builders and life is the key.

Description: 

Human nature and life are complex. Aspects of life are spoken about as positive or negative, and are often subjective; they influence one's perception of reality. Good, as a guest, is polite yet reserved, Bad is rude and abrasive. Ugly is a true reflection of life's struggles and contradictions; to label everything as good or bad causes a person to be trapped within their own perception. The only thing we can do is to understand the different aspects of lived experience as they come; these aspects shape our reality, acting as builders of the metaphorical cage. However, because we control the perspective with which we view our word, we alone have the autonomy to “free ourselves” from this cage.
